Semarang is the capital and largest city of Central Java province in Indonesia. It was a major port during the Dutch colonial era and is still an important regional center and port today. The city has been named the cleanest tourist destination in Southeast Asia by the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Standard (ACTCS) for 2020–2022.

Sultan Agung Islamic University or UNISSULA was founded by the Sultan Agung Waqf Foundation (YBWSA) on May 20 1962. Sultan Agung’s full name is Adi Prabu Hanyokrokusumo who was born in Kotagede, Mataram in 1593. Sultan Agung is the thrid sultan of the Mataram Sultanate who ruled in 1613-1645.
